What Is T & T or Trampoline and Tumbling?
T & T (Trampoline and Tumbling) is a lesser-known division of USA Gymnastics. The traditional gymnastics you see on TV is known as artistic gymnastics. T & T is composed of four different events (Individual and Synchronized Trampoline, Power Tumbling, and Double-Mini Trampoline) from Levels 1-Elite.
Trampoline made its Olympic debut in 2000 and Power Tumbling is on its way to joining by 2012.
T & T offers less physical strain on the body and has less injuries than artistic gymnastics. It also requires less hours of training to be at a comparable level, and tends to be more fun. It is a great alternative for ex-gymnasts, injured gymnasts, divers, or older gymnasts not interested in a large commitment.
